Mission
The mission of the FOHS's “Worldwide
Outreach Program” is
to support the professional development of occupational health and safety
with emphasis on primary prevention in Occupational Hygiene.
Goal
The goal of this Program is to provide cooperative financial and technical
support to enhance organizations emphasizing occupational hygiene training
and education.
Grant Announcement
FOHS announces a calendar year 2010 grant, total value up to US $2,000.
It is recommended that individual proposals be in the US $1,000 – $2,000
range. This is not a monetary award but must identify specific
educational or research materials needed to support a program.
One identified and fundable objective is to provide packages of
published materials that would enhance an organization’s
library.
Deadline for Submission
December 31, 2013
Eligibility
Qualifying educational organizations, professional organizations, and
non-government organizations and/or collaborating centers are eligible
to apply. Those seeking to further the goals of the World
Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centers for Occupational Health’s
2006-2010 Work Plan are further
encouraged to apply.
Award
At the request of FOHS, members of the ACGIH® International
Committee will serve as a review panel for all applications. The
panel will forward their recommendations for 2013 awards to FOHS after
the December 31, 2013 submission deadline.
Awards will
be announced by: May 31, 2014.
Proposal
Evaluation:
Criteria used to
evaluate the proposal include:
- Eligibility of organization,
- Demonstrated
support of Occupational Hygiene training and education activities,
- Meeting
the FOHS program mission and goals, and
- Potential for long-term
development of in-country professionals including knowledge and skill
transfer.
